DARSHAN
Yuriko Lochan, a Japanese artist married and
living in India, blends the two cultures beautifully.
Using Japanese
inks and paints, she applies this on Shikishi, Japanese rice paper board.
The style and the sensibilities are Japanese but the colours are vibrant
Indian.
Deeply interested in nature, she depicts this in an ethereal way,
her perception is deep but witty.
Her
rendition of the female form is bold and striking and very stylised.
A show
which blends two cultures is always more interesting. And this one is
certainly so.
